Slush puppy rant

Went for a run in the snow/slush this morning - as I was going over Barnes Bridge, I overheard a local woman, who was walking her dog, say to her friend

"You would have thought that someone would have salted the steps on the bridge this morning, wouldn't you!"

- there, in just one  sentence, lies the wrong in our society today - rather than expect someone to do it for you, you could do it yourself - you've got enough time to walk your poxy dog ....

I clearly needed to go for a run to reduce my stress levels ...

Started to see more colour against the white background ..

The hard-as-nails kayakers were busy clearing their launching platform and the river rescue crew were doing the same.

George, the heron, had been fed his sardines early today and had left his tracks.

Rather liked the colour road signs seen through a layer of ice.

Young swans and moorhens on the reservoir learning how not to walk across the ice.

And yes, when I got home, I did sweep the snow from the pavement outside the front of our house ...

  1. Team Tudor (us and next door) cleared a path the length of our terrace. Elderly neighbour moaned, saying it was 'slippier than the snow', even as it was thawing and we were finishing sweeping the last fragments of snow towards the gutter. There's gratitude!
